And Manu National Park in Southeastern Peru
Part I
There are still some wild places on this earth; the Manu Biosphere Reserve is one of them. Encompassing more than 20K sq. km., near the Brazilian and Bolivian borders in southeastern Peru, it is home to more than a thousand bird species (one-ninth of the earth's total), and tens of thousands of animal and plant species in an unspoiled enviornment of virgin jungle and nearby cultural areas. Here are a very, very small number of the photos I shot there in April 2009. These are divided into two parts, one with photos of animals, the other with plants and miscellaneous shots.
